Privacy is Important
At BIG4 Launceston Holiday Park , the protection of your privacy is important to us. That is why we have prepared this document to ensure you are aware of your rights and our commitment to your privacy. Under the Privacy Act there are 13 Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”). These are rules that apply to both public and private sector organisations including BIG4 Launceston Holiday Park and which regulate the way in which we deal with your personal information.
Booking and guest registration
We collect information both in person at our Park or via internet booking engines to allow you to make a reservation at our Park. The information we collect to do this includes your name, address and contact details, along with details of your stay with us (arrival and departure time, and number of other guests). We may also collect information about your vehicles including registration number and the make, model and dimensions of any caravans or trailers that are the subject of your reservation.
BIG4 Perks Membership Program
In order to access details of your BIG4 Perks membership or to sign you up for BIG4 Perks on request, we collect information either from you or a BIG4 Perks membership application form; or an internet booking engine. The information we collect to administer the BIG4 Perks Membership Program includes your name, contact details, birth date, and BIG4 Perks membership number (if already a member). We also collect your credit card details when you sign up, and transfer these details securely to a payment services provider, but we do not retain this transactional data.
Gift Vouchers
We collect the name and contact details of both the purchaser and recipient of our gift vouchers in order to send the gift voucher to the recipient and confirm the purchase. We also collect the credit card details of the purchaser, and transfer these details securely to a payment services provider, but we do not retain this transactional data.
Other personal information
Other types of personal information we collect may include, but are not limited to:
details of entrants in competitions run by us (including in collaboration with our Business Partners);name and contact details of subscribers to our mailing lists;
information contained within post stay surveys completed by Park visitors;
application information related to applicants for employment with us;
We may also collect your personal information for other purposes which may be explained at the time of collection. In some cases, if you do not provide us with personal information we may not be able to provide the services you have requested.
Is personal information stored safely and how long do we keep?
We take reasonable steps to ensure the security of Personal Information held by us from such risks as loss or unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. Our IT systems are password protected and comply with our security standards with Firewall and Virus protection software. If Personal Information is held on paper files, it is stored in locked cabinets on locked premises. We only permit your Personal Information to be accessed by authorised personnel.Personal Information is retained for the period of time determined by applicable laws after which it is de-identified or disposed of in a secure manner.
Use and disclosure
Your personal information will not be disclosed to a third party.
Marketing
When you provide us with information about yourself, you will usually be given the option to let us know that you do not want that information to be used for direct marketing purposes. You can change your mind about your preference in respect of direct marketing and make choices at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the relevant communication, or by contacting BIG4 Launceston Holiday Park.

This policy outlines our approach to all Personal Information we handle, whether collected online or otherwise. However, particular issues that arise in the online environment are noted below.
Sometimes we may generate statistics about how many people visit our website and what they look at. We use web logs and cookies to do this. This enables us to keep our website relevant and useful, and to monitor the security of our website. Unless you are accessing our website, generally the information we collect and use about website usage will not identify you, only the computer you are using.
