Cellar door hours vary between wineries. Many are open daily, while others operate on selected days or by appointment. It’s recommended to check individual winery websites or call ahead before visiting.
The Tamar Valley Wine Route is located just north of Launceston, stretching along both sides of the Tamar River / Kanamaluka through the Tamar Valley region of Northern Tasmania.
There is no general entry fee to access the Tamar Valley Wine Route. Costs are associated with individual cellar door tastings, wine purchases, food, and guided tours. Some wineries charge a small tasting fee, often redeemable on purchase.
The Tamar Valley Wine Route spans approximately 120–170 km for a full-day exploration across both sides of the river. Shorter visits covering selected wineries are typically around 40–80 km, depending on your itinerary.
